The Battle of Bezpyn - Coming Soon

In one of the more 'civilised' regions of the Sectorum Ludus Bellorum, the planet of Bezpyn, more formally known as Outpost CCCIX is a Gas Giant that has long been mined for its valuable metallic hydrogen core. With no solid surface, Bezpyn is home only to a massive mining complex, suspended by dark technology, in a swirling mass of clouds, where a couple of hundred people work, many commuting from orbital habs and much of the labor is done by expendable servitors. Probably the best appellation for Bezpyn would be "uninteresting", as it is primarily a place of work and industry. Due to this lack of interest in a well-functioning mining operation, it took many weeks before the authorities noticed that something was going horribly wrong.
Over a period of weeks, the transmissions from Outpost CCCIX became steadily more erratic. Mentions of a coming "Star God" its protection of worthy followers began to creep into standard reports and shipping manifests. By the time the reports made their way into the hands of Imperial Authorities, all transmissions from Outpost CCIX had ceased, with the last broadcast a haunting Vox of screaming drowned out by chants of "Cast off the shackles of your slumber! The galaxy shall be ours once again!" Since this transmission, no communication, materiel or personal have left the surface of Bezpyn, excepting a single, huge burst of unknown energy. Something strange has happened on Bezpyn, and the eyes of the galaxy are watching.

Imperial Administrator Cohaagen was deep in negotiation with representatives from Kuato Forge when the news reached both parties. The Squat mercantile coalition had been ruthless in their bid for exclusive mining rights at Outpost CCCIX, but disagreements were quickly tabled and preparations made for a landing on the drill head platform to retake, by force if nesescary, the profitable mining operation.

The Seer Council of Craftworld Namreb knew too well the ancient warnings woven into their legends, and when the energy pulse came as foretold, they knew the filthy Mon Keigh had awoken an ancient terror they could not hope to conquer. Warriors were carefully selected and prepared for their mission, though the loss of even a single Eldar life was a tragedy, the risk to the entire webway too great a concern to ignore.

On nearby Deathwatch Watch Fortress Asgard, the Council of Elders, made up of Watch Master Odin, Chaplain Hela, Apothecary Freyja and Inquisitor Warlock Adem, have monitored all communication to and from Bezpyn in addition to the unusual energy pulse. With no real expectation of support coming from Terra, the decision to dispatch Kill Team Aesir is made.

Kadmos the Heretek had received his instructions from his Patron. The beast sleeping in the heart of Bezpyn must be contained and protected, lest the meddling forces of the Adeptus Mechanicus do something stupid. Any exposure was dangerous, but sending his forces to openly attack an Imperial mining base? Kadmos felt the power flow through the living metal of his warscythe, he knew what must be done.
